Extreme Home Makeover: Playhouse Edition

So here is Part I in what will probably be a several part session on Sadie's playhouse.
So, Brian and I have this gazebo in the backyard that we just couldn't figure out what to do with. It's too small to put a table and chairs in and we don't have backyard parties...so one day when Mersadie was just a few months old, Brian said that we should make it into a playhouse for her one day. Well, my family came out to visit last week and "one day" arrived!!! YEAH! Here are some pictures of the construction, I haven't downloaded the final pictures yet...

Sadie's Playhouse Makeover Crew!! We LOVE you!

"BEFORE"

Mom and Marisa were trying to get the 2x4 to fit, but couldn't figure out the right pattern...that's okay. They had 7 more tries to make it work...

The 5th try was finally perfection and they were so proud!

A victory hug.

The first wall finally going up.

Dad and I pretty much just helped with the painting of the playhouse and the occassional "holding" of something for Mom and Marisa. My dad has recently had surgery on both shoulders, so he couldn't hold much above his head...
Ahhh, pink paint! What little girl wouldn't want a pink playhouse?

This is the reason I'm usually behind the camera - I am NO GOOD at "acting natural".

Dad painting - don't you love that sunshine? It didn't last long...the last half of the week it poured rain and we had to finish building soaking wet. Memories. What fun.

More pictures to come in part II of Extreme Home Makeover: Playhouse Edition

That is awesome. When I was little, my dad built Shannon and I a HUGE treehouse (about 20 high, and could hold about 30 kids). I'm sure Sadie will have lots of great memories in this playhouse. Good for you guys.

Oh, I forgot to say, how cool is it that your sister and mom can handle tools? Gotta love a girl who knows her way around power tools. Very impressive. I'm not smart enough to be allowed to use anything more powerful than a glue gun and I always burn myself on that silly thing!

Shannon, that is so awesome. I can't wait to see the finished product, and I love that it is pink.

Casey, I miss that tree house. I loved that thing.
